Spear's Wealth Management Survey magazine has named Bircham Dyson Bell Partner Simon Weil ‘Philanthropy Adviser of the Year' at its 2011 Wealth Management Awards.
The award, which was judged on the basis of the impact, innovation and sustainability of philanthropic advice, confirms Simon's position as a leader in the field.
Regarded as one of the wealth management industry's most prestigious award ceremonies, the annual Spear's Wealth Management Awards commend individuals for their professional successes in the private client sector. Now in their fourth year, the awards are described as the "Oscars of the financial world", according to the Evening Standard, and continue to attract a wide-ranging audience of influential organisations.
Held at the Phillips de Pury Gallery on 1st November, this year's event was hosted by Ross Westgate from CNBC and Spear's Editor-in-Chief, William Cash. The ceremony was attended by over 600 individuals associated with many of the world's most influential law firms, private banks and family offices. Each of this year's award winners were selected by a panel of eminent industry experts, including Spear's editor Josh Spero, Charlie Hoffman of HSBC Private Bank and Sebastian Dovery of Scorpio Partnership.
Reacting to his award win, Simon commented:
"It is a great honour to receive this award. However, a great deal of credit is also owed to the team for all their hard work over the past year. Their efforts have ensured that Bircham Dyson Bell remains one of the most highly-regarded providers of advice on philanthropic matters."
Simon's award also follows Bircham Dyson Bell's recent success in being named Charity Team of the Year at the STEP Private Client Awards, which took place on 15th September 2011.
